Find your calling at Mercy! Employment Specialist (ES) will provide supported co-workers with developmental disabilities (I/DD) retention services under the Eastern Region Alliance policies.ES will assess individual needs of supported co-workers and their leaders in order to provide the necessary assistance to ensure job success. The ES will also help educate all co-workers on the principles and practice of Supported Employment. ES will perform responsibilities in a manner congruent with Mercys Mission, Service Standards, and Core Values. Position Details:
Education: High School Diploma with additional training in Special Education or related field
Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience working with persons developmental disabilities.
Other: Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required. Displays professional and courteous interactions with patients, co-workers, and other hospital personnel. Prioritizes appropriately and utilizes good judgement with use of time. Accepts delegations of tasks. Good problem-solving skills required. Able to work independent and manage time effectively.
Preferred Education: Bachelors in special education or related field preferred
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in healthcare. Experience in a Special Education classroom with students 17-21 years of age and/or supporting people with development disabilities in community and work environments.
