Overview:
Works with Mercy physicians in identifying grateful patients to support hospital programs.
Supports and works with Vice President and other Mercy Health Foundation co-workers and departments.
Serves and supports the work of the local Foundation Board and all Foundation Board Committees.
Manages a portfolio of prospects with potential for major gifts.
Schedules individual meetings with all prospects assigned in his/her portfolio.
Coordinates with philanthropic leaders and Foundations Board members to identify prospects for solicitations.
Responsible for executing the stewardship strategy for annual, special event, major and planned giving donors to inspire increased giving levels and retain current donors.
Maintains records of campaign-related cultivation strategies, evaluations, solicitations, contact reports, and results of all contacts with prospects.
Works collaboratively with Foundation team in producing all proposals, supporting documentation and correspondence.
Has specific background and experience in foundation programs and services needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum three to five years of successful principal and major gifts experience.
- Required Education: Bachelors degree.
- Other: Demonstrable knowledge of the principles and best practices associated with major gift fundraising.
Possesses strong analytical skills.
Strategic approach to problem solving.
Personable presence, demeanor and the desire to work face-to-face with the external community, including volunteers and donor prospects.
Outstanding commitment to customer service.
Willingness and ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Raisers Edge. - Preferences:
CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive).
Demonstrate experience in effectively working with all levels of leadershp and staff
Demonstrate success in soliciting major gifts (gifts of $10,000+)
Experience securing philanthropic support for a hospital or health system.
