General Summary of Position
This role will drive digital transformation by formulating transformative product strategies and leading teams towards successful implementation. This role will sit at the intersection of innovation and execution across various touchpoints of the end-to-end consumer journey. The Sr. Director of Product Strategy will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through implementation and measurement. The role will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to drive and optimize and omni-channel platform strategy as a key part of the Digital Transformation roadmap at MedStar Health.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategic business proposals, with a clear ROI/opportunity analysis, that address existing business problems and create opportunities for value creation or competitive differentiation.
  • Develops and continuously refines an omni-channel product strategy, translating corporate business goals into strategic product initiatives that drive revenue, efficiency, and/or customer satisfaction as part of the overall digital transformation roadmap.
  • Creates and communicates a comprehensive, data-driven product roadmap, outlining key opportunities for seamless integration across various enterprise-wide digital solutions (e.g. MedStar Health App, patient portal, billing and payments platform, remote patient monitoring, etc.).
  • Collaborates closely with the integrations, operations, marketing, access, and data teams to ensure quality execution and data-driven optimization of the product roadmap, regularly highlighting opportunities for improvement across the digital and/or analog experience for consumers, patients, and/or associates.
  • Defines and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) across various digital engagement solutions, regularly evaluating product performance against strategic business objectives.
  • Conducts strategic business opportunity analysis, including but not limited to epics and user stories, win/loss research, customer and market surveys, moderated and unmoderated user testing, and on-site visits with customers and prospects to aid in refining the product direction.
  • Stays abreast of emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs within the healthcare industry.
  • Participates in meetings and committees as required, representing the department, and contributing to decision-making processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Digital Transformation team and company.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
    • Master's degree in a related field preferred

    Experience

    • 8-10 years Progressive career experience within product management required
    • 3-4 years Driving product strategy and execution for complex, enterprise-wide solutions within a large organization. required
    • 3-4 years Deploying measurable digital health solutions in medium to large-scale health care environments preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proven experience translating corporate business goals into strategic product initiatives that drive revenue, efficiency, and/or customer satisfaction
    • Leadership experience required
    • Experience in the healthcare and technology industries, with a strong understanding of portfolio management
    • Experience in the healthcare and/or technology industries, with a demonstrated expertise in product management required.
    • Deep knowledge of the full product lifecycle with experience driving product strategy across enterprise scale omni-channel digital solutions, resulting in measurable revenue generation and/or workflow efficiency.
    • Skilled in strategy development, including project prioritization, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options identification, consensus building, and implementation.
    • Proven ability to translate corporate business goals into strategic product initiatives, with the ability to execute tactically while working towards a long-term vision.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, demanding, fast-paced work environment.
