General Summary of Position
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance plays a strategic and operational leadership role within the finance division, supporting the fiscal integrity and long-term financial sustainability of the organization. This position oversees financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance while partnering with executive leadership and centers of excellence to drive performance and strategic initiatives.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions across the enterprise in collaboration with centralized system and center of excellence teams.
  • Support strategic decision-making with data-driven insights and advanced financial modeling.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor key financial indicators, identify performance trends, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and internal policies.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive management in collaboration with centralized data and reporting center of excellence.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year financial models to support long-range planning.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals; foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across the finance organization with shared service and centers of excellence in delivery of finance goals, objectives and strategies
  • Coordinate with internal audit, compliance, and risk management to strengthen internal controls and financial governance.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leadership to evaluate capital projects, service line performance, and growth initiatives and conduct annual capital prioritization aligned with the system process.
  • Serve as a liaison with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory agencies as needed.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. required

    Experience

    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a complex integrated healthcare system, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a medical group. required
    • Demonstrated success in financial planning, analysis, and strategy execution required

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire preferred or
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Upon Hire preferred

    This position has a hiring range of $188,100 - $254,500
