We are seeking a dynamic, service-focused Practice Administrator to lead the daily administrative and operational functions of a busy ambulatory practice site.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Daily Site Operations: Oversee front and back office workflows, patient scheduling, registration, charge capture, referral management, and overall site efficiency to ensure seamless patient care delivery.

  • Supervise & Develop Staff: Direct daily activities of administrative and support staff, manage schedules and coverage, provide coaching and training, and reinforce performance and service standards.

  • Ensure Billing & Financial Accuracy: Oversee superbill preparation, charge entry, TES edits, billing audits, supply management, and financial documentation to maintain revenue integrity and operational compliance.

  • Serve as EMR & Workflow Champion: Act as the site lead for EMR processes, downtime procedures, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with IS to optimize system utilization.

  • Drive Patient Experience & Service Recovery: Promote MedStar's mission and patient care philosophy, resolve service concerns, and implement workflow improvements to enhance satisfaction and efficiency.

  • Maintain Compliance & Administrative Oversight: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and personnel documentation; serve as site leader when nursing leadership is off-site.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Relevant experience may substitute for education (and vice versa)

Experience

  • 3 or more years of progressively responsible healthcare or practice operations experience.

Certifications

  • CPR (BLS/NRP) certification from AHA or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong customer service and patient interaction skills

  • Experience with EMR and practice management systems

  • Ability to multitask in a multi-specialty clinical setting

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment

This position has a hiring range of

USD $59,820.00 - USD $101,836.00 /Yr.
