General Summary of Position
Collaborates with providers nursing leaders departmental staff and hospital leadership to support quality patient safety performance improvement and regulatory compliance. Collects analyzes and reports clinical and operational data; facilitates performance improvement initiatives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Management Analysis and Reporting: Collects validates analyzes and reports clinical and quality data to support performance improvement and regulatory. Ensures data accuracy integrity confidentiality and timely reporting. Performs data analyses to identify trends measure performance and support improvement initiatives.
- Regulatory and Accreditation Support: Performs and coordinates data abstraction submission and reporting requirements for regulatory and accreditation programs including Joint Commission Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) state agencies and other quality reporting initiatives. Monitors compliance with established performance metrics and reporting timelines.
- Quality and Patient Safety Monitoring: Conducts medical record reviews audits and tracers to identify trends and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Performance Improvement: Coordinates and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support performance improvement initiatives utilizing quality improvement methodologies to identify opportunities implement interventions and evaluate outcomes.
- Professional Development and Compliance: Maintains current knowledge of healthcare quality patient safety regulatory requirements and performance improvement practices. Participates in continuing education and complies with all organizational policies accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Education and Consultation: Serves as a resource to clinical and operational departments regarding quality measures documentation standards regulatory requirements data interpretation and performance improvement methodologies.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Business Administration or related field required.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data collection analysis and reporting in healthcare required
Licenses and Certifications
- Current Maryland Registered Nurse License or Compact State Registered Nurse License required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies regulatory and accreditation standards and healthcare performance metrics. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry reporting and analysis.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers
- Knowledge of healthcare confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $89,065.00 - USD $162,801.00 /Yr.
