Summary of Position:
MedStar Medical Group is seeking an organized, service-focused Office Coordinator to support our Interventional Gastroenterology physician practice at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital.
In this role, you will help manage the practice's daily administrative and financial operations while ensuring that patients receive responsive, compassionate service. You will work closely with the Practice Administrator, providers, associates, patients, and billing partners to strengthen workflows and keep the office running efficiently.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the practice's daily administrative and financial operations, serve as a backup for administrative positions, and help ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a patient advocate by responding to billing and collection questions, addressing concerns with professionalism, and maintaining ongoing communication with the billing company to promote patient satisfaction.
Partner with the Practice Administrator to implement policies, streamline workflows, improve processes, and support an efficient and well-organized medical practice.
Coordinate patient portal activities by overseeing daily transactions, supporting staff training, monitoring performance reports, maintaining patient-facing materials, and communicating updates or concerns to the appropriate teams.
Oversee cash-receipt balancing, daily deposits, end-of-shift reconciliation, and staff data-entry audits within the Practice Management System to support accurate billing and financial reporting.
Review encounter forms for accuracy and completeness, work with providers to resolve coding issues, and notify the Practice Administrator when additional coding education may be needed.
Minimal Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1+ years medical office experience is required.
Medical billing and leadership experience preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to address patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with providers, colleagues, patients, and external billing partners.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $23.65 - USD $42.03 /Hr.
