Post Operative Care Unit (PACU) Summary
- 22 bed Phase I & Phase II PACU
- Variety of Post-Op patients (Ortho & neuro surgery, OB/GYN, Plastics, Gender Affirmation, Robotics, everything except open heart and transplant cases)
- Excellent teamwork and fun environment

- Part of our state-of-the-art surgical pavilion, which opened in 8/2020
General Summary of Position
- Member of the MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team
- Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON) in providing leadership and oversight for the OR
- Directs and coordinates the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel
- 15-20 direct reports
- Assists DON with time cards, annual and mid-year reviews, schedules, huddles/meetings, bed needs, staff collaboration
- Direct relationship with anesthesia team and surgeons
- Schedule: Full Time Days, five 8s or four 10s, Monday - Friday
Qualifications
- BSN from an accredited School of Nursing required; MSN preferred.
- 3-5+ years of PACU RN experience required; 2 years of leadership/management experience strongly preferred.
- Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). ACLS preferred.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $52.50 - USD $77.63 /Hr.
