Summary of Position:

At MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, our Graduate Medical Education (GME) team plays a vital role in shaping future physicians and supporting high-quality patient care. We're seeking a dynamic and organized Administrator I to serve as a key operational leader within the department—supporting physicians, trainees, and staff while ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

As an Administrator I, you'll serve as the operational backbone of the department—supporting clinical, academic, and administrative functions while partnering closely with leadership.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily administrative and operational activities, ensuring efficient workflows and staff coverage
  • Supervise and support departmental staff, including scheduling, training, and performance coordination
  • Manage payroll, timekeeping, and personnel transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Serve as a key liaison between department leadership, physicians, trainees, patients, and hospital partners
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and support clinical operations to enhance access and experience
  • Lead administrative aspects of quality assurance initiatives, including data tracking and reporting
  • Support regulatory compliance, licensure tracking, and training requirements
  • Assist with financial and operational processes, including purchasing, expense tracking, and budget support
  • Coordinate department logistics such as meetings, conferences, and special projects
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data systems to support decision-making and departmental goals
  • Address complex operational and customer service concerns with professionalism and discretion

 

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or health related field, required.
  • 3+ years of relevant administrative experience, required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work as a team player. Ability to interact well with physicians and patient families. Total computer familiarity. Must have prior knowledge of medical terminology Must be able to handle multiple tasks and communicate with several persons in a multilevel capacity. Particular importance is placed on excellent customer service to the patients being admitted the families of those patients and the admitting physicians.

USD $65,062.00 - USD $117,291.00 /Yr.
