MedStar Health is seeking a resourceful and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to department leadership and physicians. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing multiple priorities, supporting a busy team, and creating an organized and welcoming office environment.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to department leadership and physicians, including managing calendars, appointments, staff schedules, vacation logs, mail, telephone calls, correspondence, presentations, reports, filing systems, data entry, and follow-up activities. May also coordinate travel, conference registrations, expense reimbursements, licensing, and credentialing activities.
  • Coordinate meetings and events by arranging locations, virtual access, refreshments, agendas, materials, and meeting minutes. Assist with special projects and the collection and preparation of financial, statistical, or operational information.
  • Maintain office operations by ordering supplies, monitoring inventory, supporting equipment maintenance, responding professionally to patients and other stakeholders, and providing backup coverage to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, outreach activities, and quality-improvement initiatives while supporting departmental goals and complying with MedStar Health policies, safety and quality standards, and governmental and accreditation requirements.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and relevant business or administrative training required; associate degree preferred. An appropriate combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Two years of clerical or office experience supporting a leader or administrative function required; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, along with strong typing, transcription, organization, communication, customer-service, and telephone skills.

This position has a hiring range of

USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
