Leads the development and oversight of the clinical vendor framework that provides the governance infrastructure for vendor selection, relationship management, and performance oversight. Establishes the end-to-end clinical vendor process with a focus on cost optimization, risk mitigation, and assessment of innovation and alignment of vendors to the strategic goals of the clinical businesses. Collaborates with various levels of internal and external leadership.

Responsibilities 

  • Oversees vendor selection, implementation, and maintenance of clinical vendors
  • Fosters strong relationships with documented communication protocols and escalation procedures
  • Develops policies, contractual guidelines, and performance measures consistent with regulatory requirements through close collaboration with compliance and quality
  • Monitors spend through invoice review and payment, reports savings, and tracks performance metrics (initiates corrective action plans when applicable)
  • Communicates performance and action plans on a routine basis to senior leadership
  • Ensures vendor performance is available through reporting and bi-directional data channels are created and maintained
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/health administration, finance, accounting, or related field.  In lieu of degree, may consider equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in Vendor/Relationship Management or delegation oversight, preferably in a health plan or health care setting, 3 years of which are in a leadership capacity.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Project Management or other industry recognized certification a plus.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate clear ability to apply critical thinking, strategy development, and vision towards the growth of clinical vendor partnership plans, while overseeing the day-to-day execution.
  • Excellent coordination and strong project management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and vendor management systems.
  • Strong negotiating and conflict management abilities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing sourcing, service agreements and vendor contracts (vendor management selection, relationship management and performance oversight, and the ability to apply to business operations.)
