Job Summary:        

Manages commission and incentive plans in compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements. Oversees the design and management of the calculation and payment processes for brokers and sales teams. Prepares reports and analyses on commissions, including benchmarking, ROI, variance analysis, and dashboard development, while recommending improvements for efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborates with business leaders on reporting and analyses to support decision-making and directs system enhancements and operational integrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team to ensure accurate, compliant and timely processing of commissions, overrides, bonuses, and incentives. Provides strategic guidance and mentorship to promote staff development and critical thinking.
  • Manages workload distribution, performance management, and process improvement initiatives to ensure operational efficiency. Resolves complex payment-related issues. Maintains accountability for reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manages the evaluation, measurement, and reporting of the financial impact of commission expenditures, including broker performance reporting, ROI analysis of commission programs, and fulfillment of ad hoc analysis requests.
  • Leads annual and recurring budgeting and forecasting for commission expenses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with financial goals through analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Directs and manages complex financial analysis as requested.
  • Supports quarterly Incentive Committee to gain approval on changes in payment arrangements. Ensures payments comply with committee's approved methodology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 8 years progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, 3 years which are in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry preferred.
  • Experience with commission programs preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting and financial systems and the ability to apply advanced concepts and strategies at a corporate level.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and financial systems skills.
  • Ability to facilitate the acceptance and implementation of change and innovation.
  • Ability to build and manage a successful team and create partnerships within the organization.
