This position has the option to work hybrid or remote. Note, requires a minimum of (1) day per month in-office in Brooklyn, Ohio.

Responsibilities

Group Underwriting Operations Analyst I

Learning to support the underwriting system, collaborates with other system developers, and liaisons to translate basic user requirements and systems objectives into a logical, efficient, and optimal systems design. Develops and maintains new and existing applications by writing code after learning business rules, security standards and government regulations. Writes queries to pull and analyze data for reporting and ad hoc projects as requested by management.

·       Learns the basics of the underwriting system. Develops and maintains basic underwriting system application by analyzing, designing, and writing code of that satisfies a logical, efficient, and optimal systems design.

·       Supports testing, implementation, and break-fix tasks of underwriting systems.

·       Learns new technical concepts and software languages.

·       Works with database staff and security staff to learn and ensure that data standards and security standards are properly applied.

·       Assists underwriting staff with use of systems, tools, and formulas.

·       Writes queries to pull and analyze data for reporting and ad hoc projects.

·       Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Math or related field.  

·       0-1 years of work experience in maintaining and developing business systems.

·       Basic understanding of programming design and coding techniques.

·       Basic understanding and familiarity with SAS, SQL, Office, and other components of Microsoft technology.

·       Knowledge of data analysis and report design/development.

Group Underwriting Operations Analyst II

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Math or related field.  

·       2 years of work experience in maintaining and developing business systems.

·       Ability to apply basic programming design and coding techniques.

·       Ability to apply basic of SAS, SQL, Office, and other components of Microsoft technology.

·       Working knowledge of data analysis and report design/development.

Group Underwriting Operations Analyst III

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Math or related field.  

·       3 years of work experience in maintaining and developing business systems.

·       Solid understanding of programming design and coding techniques.

·       Solid understanding and familiarity with SAS, SQL, Office, and other components of Microsoft technology.

·       Basic understanding of Optum's Stepwise Formula Designer.

·       Knowledge of underwriting concepts & techniques and general health insurance and benefit & funding designs is preferred.

·       Experience in Data analysis and report design/development.

Senior Group Underwriting Operations Analyst

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Math or related field.  

·       5 years of work experience in maintaining and developing business systems.

·       Advanced understanding of programming design and coding techniques.

·       Advanced understanding and familiarity with SAS, SQL, Office, and other components of Microsoft technology.

·       Advanced understanding of Optum's Stepwise Formula Designer.

·       Knowledge of underwriting concepts & techniques and general health insurance and benefit & funding designs is preferred.

·       Experience in Data analysis and report design/development.
