Oversees the procurement processes within the organization, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing procurement operations to support the company's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes strategic sourcing and procurement operations strategies that align with the company's objectives. Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with vendors, ensuring they meet quality and cost standards. Collaborates with Business Units to identify business needs and communicates with leadership to ensure effective expenditure management.
- Engages in contract negotiation to secure favorable terms and conditions while achieving cost savings and improved quality and service levels.
- Identifies high risk suppliers and developing performance tracking / key performance indicators and communicates on-going or potential performance issues.
- Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team of sourcing, supplier management and purchasing professionals.
- Monitors and evaluates vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements. Understands regional and local supply markets, including major suppliers and their capabilities. Identifies short- and long-term improvement projects.
- Implements and maintains automated systems to enhance procurement processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration required. Supply Chain focus preferred.
- Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
- 10 years progressive procurement experience, 5 of which are in a leadership capacity.
Professional Certification(s):
- Certified Purchasing Manager or other relevant certification preferred.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement software.
