The Role
We are seeking a visionary product executive to lead the strategy, proposition design, and customer experience for Merchant Cloud—a multi billion dollar portfolio shaping the future of global payments and Agentic Commerce.
You will define where the platform goes next, build propositions that win in market, and ensure every merchant, partner, and integrator has an exceptional, seamless experience from integration to long term growth.
This role combines proposition co founder, AI driven innovator, and customer experience champion.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Proposition Leadership
• Own the multi year strategy for the Merchant Cloud portfolio, including Gateway, Orchestration, Acceptance, Tokenisation, VAS, and next generation Agentic Commerce.
• Lead a global team of 20+ product and experience leaders.
• Translate complex platform capabilities into clear, modular, commercially compelling propositions across merchant verticals.
• Drive competitive intelligence, market insights, and customer research to shape differentiated offerings.
• Ensure alignment with P&L objectives, platform economics, compliance, and long term strategic priorities.
• Partner deeply with Engineering, Architecture, Digital, and Product leadership to bring scalable, high quality propositions to market.
Proposition Enablement & Go to Market
• Bridge the gap between product and commercial teams by creating compelling value frameworks, messaging, and sales ready materials.
• Lead launch readiness across regions, ensuring propositions land with clarity, consistency, and impact.
• Equip Sales, Solutions Engineering, and partners with the tools, collateral, and training needed for successful adoption.
Agentic Commerce & AI Innovation
• Define Mastercard's Agentic Commerce strategy—including intelligent orchestration, AI driven optimisation, and merchant facing agentic tools.
• Collaborate with Foundry, AI Centers of Excellence, and Engineering to incubate and commercialize next gen use cases.
• Embed agent based decisioning into the Merchant Cloud fabric with a focus on scalability, explainability, and regulatory trust.
• Develop AI powered propositions that boost authorization rates, reduce cost, enhance consumer experience, and drive operational efficiency.
Customer Experience Leadership
• Own the end to end developer, integrator, and merchant experience across APIs, onboarding, portals, analytics, and UX.
• Deliver a unified “single front door” for merchants, PSPs, marketplaces, and technology partners.
• Modernize and unify onboarding through API first frameworks, automation, and intelligent workflows.
• Lead portal evolution into a cohesive, API driven environment for configuration, monitoring, optimisation, and insights.
• Champion self service analytics and data experiences that deliver real time intelligence and measurable value.
Ecosystem & Partner Expansion
• Identify and build strategic partnerships across APMs, fintech enablers, fraud/identity providers, and AI technology vendors.
• Develop joint propositions that accelerate market expansion and strengthen the Merchant Cloud ecosystem.
• Represent Mastercard globally as a thought leader in the evolution of payments and AI driven commerce.
Leadership & Culture
• Build and coach a high performing global team grounded in innovation, accountability, and customer obsession.
• Develop future senior leaders through structured coaching and talent development.
• Drive cross functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Regional leadership teams.
About You
• Expert in payments and fintech with deep knowledge of emerging technologies and market trends.
• Proven executive level product leadership (CPO, SVP Product, or similar).
• Exceptional strategic thinker able to turn vision into actionable, commercially meaningful roadmaps.
• Strong experience partnering with marketing teams to craft compelling sales narratives.
• Comfortable influencing C suite and board level stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
• Skilled people leader with a track record of scaling global teams and nurturing top talent.
• Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations with speed and clarity.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks across global markets.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• Fluent in English, with willingness to travel globally.
Preferred Qualifications
• Expertise in AI, Agentic Commerce, or emerging technical protocols.
• Background in strategy consulting, business transformation, or platform economics.
• Strong program and execution management skills
