Title and Summary

Manager, Sponsorships The Sponsorship team at Mastercard manages a portfolio of properties that are used to capitalize on consumer passion to influence behavior and drive profitability for Mastercard and its issuing bank and merchant partners. By associating with and leveraging leading properties, personalities and events, Mastercard offers cardholders access to ‘priceless' experiences which in turn, builds brand preference, drives acquisition and increases card usage. Working with cross functional teams as well as outside marketing agencies you will be responsible for managing marketing platforms and programs primarily related to Mastercard's Golf and Gaming Investments, with some support on Racing Investments as needed. Responsibilities include: experiential activations; hosting program execution; asset management; budget management; contract/legal documentation; managing relationships with partners, agencies and internal stakeholders; securing legal, marketing and brand approvals; and recapping/reporting on successes.

Role
You will be responsible for achieving functional objectives within your area, delivering strategies that will have a direct impact on the business and brand. This position manages a portfolio of sponsorships assets and experiences that capitalize on consumer passions to influence behavior and drive profitability for Mastercard and its partners:

• Strategy: Develop strategies to leverage the assets/activation funds for verticals including Golf, Gaming and sometimes Racing to deliver against set business objectives, based on emerging consumer trends or customer needs

• Asset Management: Manage usage of sponsorship assets such as events, tickets, sweepstakes/contests, physical/digital experiences, and brand ambassadors to deliver against set business objectives. Lead the merchandising of B2C assets via website, e-blast, social, etc.

• Proposal Creation: Support B2B Marketing teams on creating proposals and assisting with activations and programs for partners that leverage sponsorship assets.

• Compliance and Legal: Manage compliance tools, charitable support programs, and work with the legal team on sponsorship/ambassador contracts, terms/conditions, consumer waivers and creative reviews.

• Budget Management: Track budget and payment processing for sponsorship verticals and related marketing programs, including asset monetization. Work with Sourcing teams to onboard vendors/suppliers.

• Creative/Materials Development: Work with agencies to develop creative materials such as web banners, signage, etc. and ensure they meet brand guidelines.

• Experiential Activation, Hosting and Event Execution: Execute and manage on-site events, B2B hosting programs and activations for sponsorship properties. Collaborate with Product, Technology and Brand teams to showcase Mastercard's latest innovations.

• Merchandise and Memorabilia Handling: Handle and manage sponsorship merchandise and memorabilia including proper storage, utilization/fulfillment, tracking, and inventory.

• Performance Tracking: Maintain asset tracking, performance, and recaps to deliver success and key learnings in a timely manner.

• Agency Coordination: Provide direction and coordinate deliverables with agency partners.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and external agency partners on day-to-day responsibilities with sponsorship properties and execution of assets/activations.

All About You

• 5+ years of experience in marketing, partnership management and executing against business objectives
• Proven experience in working across cross-functional teams inclusive of brand, legal, digital, media, communications and product
• Proven experience in sponsorship management, event planning, event management and consumer and/or customer hospitality activation• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Self-starter who takes initiative and can navigate well within ambiguity
• Experience developing presentations and articulating a story with a clear point of view
• Experience interfacing with legal and compliance for reviewing contract and marketing materials
• Knowledge and interest of new technology and innovation in the payments landscape
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and presentation skills
• Ability/presence to interact with C-Suite executives and customers
• Ability to forecast, monitor and consistently work within a determined marketing budget
• Comfort working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Bachelor's degree and some post graduate marketing experience

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
