Title and Summary
Manager, Business Development, Telco OverviewThe Digital Partnerships team in the Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa region (EEMEA) is looking for a Manager, Business Development, Telco to support with managing the relationships with key strategic digital partnership TELCO accounts in Egypt.
The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging payments technology to digitally transform new and emerging sectors, digital innovation, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial and commercially astute mindset.
This role will be based in Cairo, Egypt.
Purpose of the Digital Partnerships Team:
The Digital Partnerships team in EEMEA leads Mastercard's engagement with major actors in digital commerce. We work with the biggest names in tech, ecommerce, and financial services to leverage Mastercard's technological capabilities to solve partner business problems, create new propositions, and ensure seamless, secure, and inclusive payments.
Our Digital Partners include Telco's (Mobile Network Operators), Digital Merchants (including but not limited to Online Market Places and On Demand Services) including Large Digital Giants and Key Digital Activity Players in new and emerging sectors such as Microlending and Online Travel.
Role
Key Responsibilities
In this high-profile, customer facing position, you will partner & work closely with the Egypt Telco lead in Egypt to deepening our relationship with the Telco's across all areas of their business (consumer, SME, value added services etc.).
The role, is responsible for business development and account management and as a result driving growth in Mastercard market share and revenue with TELCO partners in EGYPT.
You will be responsible for communication, preparation & executing on existing partnership/ commercial deals with Mastercard telco partners in Egypt after alignment with the Telco lead for Egypt.
You will be responsible for cross functional collaboration in driving core revenue and product cross sales across your key accounts including partnership with local country teams and regional market development teams to drive execution after alignment with the Telco lead for Egypt.
1. Execution of Strategic Account Commercial Deals and /or Strategic Partnership agreements in alignment with Telco Lead :
i. Work with cross-functional teams and the Egypt telco lead to clearly define strategic initiatives and priorities, set objectives, financial goals, funding requirements, and key performance indicators to measure success. (split into near term and long term priorities)
ii. Lead multiple customer projects in collaboration with regional teams, quickly grasp new ideas and simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability & roadmap
iii. Exercise strong judgment and organization skills to prioritize and replan activities so that critical path tasks and deliverables are not delayed
iv. Together with the Egypt Telco lead, own the customer's P & L including Budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
v. Responsible for reviews of the overall performance of the customer, as well as managing the relationship and profitability as per the commercial deal.
vi. Responsible for administrative , operational & Billing issues for the customer/partner.
vii. Contribute to the achievement of the telco customer's sales and net revenue targets including designing strategies, messaging and proposals for customers.
viii. Work on analysis of the telco customer's business with Mastercard through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis including Budgeting, Strategic Account planning and internal/External Quarterly Business Reviews.
ix. Building Business cases for Telco- related business lines
2. Develop & Sell new opportunities with the Strategic Partners with the view to accelerate business growth – to increase Mastercard share and volume plus identify new revenue streams
i. Support Telco Lead on the co-creation and development of new business models, value propositions and/or innovative ecosystems in collaboration with the customer, internal stakeholders and/or external third party providers as required.
ii. Suport Telco Lead on account plans, GTM deliverables for customer, in collaboration with the regional teams
iii. Develop new business opportunities/ sales pipeline leveraging full suite of Mastercard products and solutions, in alignment withTelco Lead
iv. Develop financial modelling and business cases for identified opportunities in alignment with Telco Lead
v. Develop strong working relationships with key influencers at customer/partner as well as internal stakeholders in Mastercard
vi. Collaborate with Mastercard cross functional teams to identify new segment and product opportunities and develop/ execute bespoke propositions to maximize penetration with strategic clients/partners in alignment with Telco lead
3. Execute through collaboration with key internal stakeholders, as well as external resources (customers, partners, regulators and third party service providers) to ensure seamless execution of the Mastercard strategy
i. Develop views on competition positioning in the telco vertical.
ii. Perform market research ,opportunity assessments & SWOT analysis on new concepts and ideas.
iii. Assess the viability of new products in support of market strategy
iv. Be a Subject Matter Expert and Centre of Excellence for the Digital Partnerships Telco Vertical in your applicable markets.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Minimum of 5-years' experience within the Financial Services / Payments domain
3. written and verbal communication skills.
4. Strong in numbers , Expert on deal commercialization and P & L management.
5. A passion and comfort in meeting new people and building & nurturing meaningful relationships at all levels including with senior-level and C-Suite executives. Strong Business Development & Relationship management expertise.
6. Possess a blend of a strong analytical capability, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence and able to dive deep on all areas of the business to deliver creative solutions to unstructured problems.
7. Comfortable aptitude for onboarding complex business and technical knowledge to a level sufficient to engage in meaningful partner discussions and identify and drive solutions.
8. Enjoy collaborating with a team while working independently towards a goal.
9. Fluent English & Arabic is a must-have.
10. Be results driven, entrepreneurial and a proactive self-starter, requiring minimal supervision.
11. Ideally have in-depth experience in banking/financial industries and/or telco financial services
12. Have payment industry experience/ understanding of payment & info flows
13. Be able to demonstarte expertise and success leveraging payment products, rules, and services in customer accounts, consistently delivered thoughtful market and business analysis for customer accounts.
14. Ideally have strong Project Management and Program Execution Skills
15. Ability to work under pressure & Multi-task with an emphasis on Delivery
