Title and Summary
Lead Software Engineer OverviewThis position is for a Lead Java Developer in the Virtual Card Management team. You will be responsible for defining and maintaining key systems to deliver effective digital solutions for virtual card management. You will work closely with a team of developers, guiding them in development, system maintenance, integrations, enhancements, and transformation processes. Collaboration with Architects to design and implement solutions is a key aspect of this role.
Role
• Lead initiatives to build and maintain Java-based applications for virtual card management, seeking opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
Architect internal solutions as part of the full stack, including integration with wider organization systems.
This means that the Java Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive solutions that cover all layers of the application stack. This includes:
• Integration: Ensuring seamless integration with both file-based systems (e.g., CSV, XML) and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Full Stack Development: Working on both the front-end and back-end components of the application to deliver a cohesive and efficient digital solution.

• Write efficient Java code to optimize application performance and query development.
• Utilize various tools such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kafka, and RESTful APIs for data integration
• Manage the deployment of Java solutions that are standardized and meet project deliverables.
• Ensure application security, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.
• Resolve complex problems to prevent future performance issues.
• Support process improvement efforts to identify automation opportunities and reduce deployment time.
• Responsible for complex design, development, performance, and system testing, providing functional guidance to experienced developers.
• Mentor junior staff, providing training to develop technical skills and capabilities across the team.
All About You
• Experience specializing in areas such as application development, data integration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting using Java and related technologies.
• Experience leading major work streams or multiple smaller work streams for large domain initiatives, providing technical guidance to team members.
• Experience creating deliverables within global technology domains, supporting cross-functional leaders to derive new solutions.
• Experience supporting automation and/or cloud delivery efforts, including financial and cost analysis.
• Experience in application architecture or other relevant IT experience.
• Experience in leading business system application and architecture design, influencing technology direction across various IT areas.
