Title and Summary

Lead BizOps Engineer Job Overview:

This position is responsible for providing technical direction to Mastercard's Platform Services team, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of our API Gateway and Event Gateway infrastructure. You will lead & collaborate across engineering, operations, and compliance teams to drive automation, improve resiliency, and support mission-critical services.

Major Accountabilities:
• Design, develop and implement MasterCard Technologies next generation integration wiring framework that supports MasterCard's business needs in realizing business value and agility, through implementation of developed executable codes in implementing message patterns, formats, protocols, security models and interfaces.
• Mentor other software engineers within the team and MasterCard Technologies organization
• Is the Subject Matter Expert of Shared Services initiative in liaison with other technology partners, business partners and vendors.
• Lead day-to-day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet deliverables
• Perform architecture/design/code review for quality, security and adherence to standards and best practicies
• Works closely with Project Managers and Senior Architects in development and implementation of Shared Services processes and activities
• Participate and perform Proof-of-concepts within MasterCard Technologies to evaluate software/frameworks/methodologies to enable MasterCard to be better, faster and cheaper.

Role Qualifications:

This role will work closely with Senior Architects within the Shared Services and Integration Services Department, and also with department leadership, business partners and technical teams across MasterCard.

The ideal candidate will have experience in many of these areas:
• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic understanding of Java, gRPC, HTTP2.0, Logging and monitoring.
• Intermediate understanding of NGINX.
• Understanding of Chef Infra and Chef Habitat based pipelines, setup and operate Jenkins Jobs.
• Coding or scripting exposure.
• Appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. Be curious about new technology, infrastructure, and practices to scale our architecture and prepare for future growth.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and to work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
• Ability to balance doing things right with fixing things quickly. Flexible and pragmatic, while working towards improving the long-term health of the system.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that expected system behavior is understood and monitoring exists to detect anomalies.
