Title and Summary

Director, Publisher Experience, Commerce Media Director, Publisher Experience and Platform, Commerce Media

Role Overview

We are seeking a Director of Publisher Platform & Experience to support the Vice President of Publisher Experience and Platform within Mastercard Commerce Media, a newly established digital media network enabling highly personalized, targeted ads and offers across premium publisher channels.

This role will partner closely with the VP to help define, build, and scale the publisher platform, with a strong focus on execution, delivery, and cross functional coordination. The goal is to create a seamless, best-in-class experience for publishers from beginning to end. The Senior Director will own key platform components and initiatives, translate strategy into action, and ensure publisher needs are delivered through reliable, scalable product experiences.

This is an ideal role for a strong platform product leader who thrives in complex environments and is ready to operate at scale while learning from—and amplifying—the vision of a senior executive.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Planning
• Support the VP in executing the multi year platform roadmap for the Commerce Media publisher platform.
• Own defined areas of the publisher experience, including front end, back end services, adapters (Pre Bid, SDK, JS, VAST), reporting, onboarding, or monetization workflows.
• Partner with leadership to assess tradeoffs between speed, scalability, reliability, and publisher experience.
• Contribute to platform vision by surfacing insights from publishers, partners, and internal teams.
Product Delivery & Execution
• Translate publisher needs and business priorities into clear product requirements, milestones, and outcomes, using AI tools for greater efficiency.
• Drive delivery of assigned platform initiatives, ensuring on time, high quality execution in partnership with Engineering.
• Support an API first approach that enables extensibility, partner integrations, and internal reuse.
• Coordinate closely with Data, Privacy, and Identity teams to ensure compliant and scalable platform integrations.
• Monitor platform performance and operational health, escalating risks and recommending improvements.
AI Enabled Product Development
• Partner with the VP to identify and execute AI driven opportunities across decisioning, automation, experimentation, and analytics.
• Help implement responsible AI practices within defined product areas, adhering to established guardrails and standards.
• Leverage AI to improve speed to market, decision quality, and publisher outcomes within assigned scope.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Act as a key day to day product partner for Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Operations.
• Represent assigned product areas in working sessions with internal teams and external partners.
• Support executive level communication by preparing materials, updates, and product narratives.

People Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor a team of product managers and senior individual contributors.
• Foster strong product practices, clear ownership, and customer centric decision making.
• Support distributed teams across time zones with strong alignment and accountability.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience in ad tech, commerce media, marketplaces, or real time platform environments.
• Hands on product leadership experience owning meaningful platform or infrastructure adjacent capabilities.
• Proven ability to partner deeply with Engineering on technically complex systems at scale.
• Experience operating in high throughput, data driven, or decisioning centric platforms.
• Demonstrated success delivering large initiatives in matrixed, cross functional organizations.
• People leadership experience with a track record of developing product talent.
• Versed in AI enabled product development and interest in responsible AI adoption.
• Clear, confident communicator able to explain complex concepts to both technical and non technical audiences, senior executives and customers.
