Title and Summary

Accounting Manager Who we are:

Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) is the division responsible for the management of the legal entities under which all of Mastercard's current licensed money transfer services (and in the future other regulated activities) will be conducted. The MTS division (and associated MTS shared services functions) are housed under the umbrella of Mastercard Transaction Services and are comprised of the components which are necessary to support the activities of a licensed payment services firm.

Overview:

This position will be within the Mastercard Transaction Services Controllers Team. The role is required to oversee some key finance operational aspects of the group as well as reconciliations to support the balance sheet. The role is based in Manilla, Philippines reporting directly to the MTS Controller.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Being the key point of contact within the finance team to co-ordinate and ensure that onboarding of new customers in the money transfer product platforms is done accurately by Cross Border Operational teams with focus on key finance related controls
• Review of customer contracts to ensure accuracy within the money transfer platform
• Provide the oversight of the pipeline of new customers to be onboarded with communication with key finance stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Support intercompany reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Global projects within the team to ensure continuous improvement in process and controls
• Evaluates financial and/or operational metrics and performances, summarizes findings and makes preliminary recommendations to leadership
• Serves as a point of escalation for compliance and service level issues
• Implements initiatives to improve day-to-day operations, including ORM, IT, business processes and system applications

All About You:

• Preferably at least 5 years of experience in an international multi-functional accounting and/or finance team
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members as well as with colleagues across the globe and senior management
• Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant preferably with Big 4 experience
• US GAAP and IFRS experience required
• Experience assessing effectiveness and implementing accounting controls and ensuring compliance
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvement activities, makes recommendations to further improve procedures
• Demonstrated successful oversight of the management and resolution of high-risk issues to ensure completeness and efficiency
• Experience driving and building relationships with business partners
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements and financial reporting requirements and consistently delivers accurate and timely information
• Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software applications e.g. Excel, Hyperion and Oracle is a plus
• Independent worker and thinker with the ability to follow up on time sensitive issues, with the ability to drive others.
• High level of analytical skills
• Ability to understand the business with a curious mindset and to validate proper translation into the financial statements
• Excellent Oral and Written Language proficiency in English
