Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Product Support, the Repair and Overhaul Test Technician supports the diagnosis, repair, rework, and final verification testing of electronic assemblies and components used in communication and power systems for defence applications. This role is hands-on in a production/repair environment and is responsible for ensuring repaired units meet performance, workmanship, and documentation requirements prior to release. The position contributes to the team's goals of on-time delivery, cost compliance, customer satisfaction, and ensuring repairs meet the highest quality standards.

As an R & O Test Technician, your main responsibilities will include:
  • Perform functional test, fault isolation, and troubleshooting to the component and circuit level on electronic assemblies (e.g., modules, power supplies, control boards, communication subassemblies).
  • Conduct repair and rework using approved methods (e.g., soldering, component replacement, connector/terminal repair, wire harness repair as applicable).
  • Interpret test results and determine repair disposition (repair, re-test, escalate to engineering, or scrap per process).
  • Identify recurring defects and communicate trends to Engineering/Quality/Production for corrective action.
  • Accurately record repair actions, measurements, and results in an electronic system (ERP/MES).
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and workmanship requirements (e.g., IPC practices where applicable).
  • Support Quality with nonconformance investigations, evidence collection, and containment actions.
  • Maintain configuration control and ensure parts used are approved, traceable, and correctly serialized
What you require to be successful in the role:
  • Possession of an Electronics Technician or Technology Diploma and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, test procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrated experience with accurate fault isolation and efficient repair turnaround without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong hands-on capability using electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot to board/component level with sound diagnostic reasoning.
  • IPC certification is considered an asset.
  • Defence manufacturing or repair experience is desirable.
  • Contribute in a cross-functional, outcome-focused, and team-based work environment
