Job Summary

When a vehicle intercom system or battle management system goes down in the field — stateside or halfway around the world, there's no time for it to sit broken. This Field Service Representative role puts you on the front line of that fight, delivering hands-on support for Vehicle Intercom Systems (VIS) and Battle Management Systems (BMS) to both domestic and foreign military customers. You'll own the full lifecycle of field support: installing and troubleshooting VIS/BMS hardware and software, running DSESTS and SE MSD services, and keeping equipment mission-ready at depots, training sites, and customer locations worldwide. This is a role built for someone who's comfortable working independently, thinks fast under pressure, and is ready to travel (sometimes OCONUS for extended stretches) to put hands directly on the equipment that keeps our forces connected and informed. If you want technical work that matters and takes you further than a cubicle, this is it.

Essential Functions
  • Deliver hands-on Vehicle Intercom System (VIS) support to domestic and foreign military customers, from installation through troubleshooting and repair.
  • Provide field-level Battle Management System (BMS) support across domestic and international customer sites, keeping mission-critical systems operational.
  • Lead VIS/BMS hardware and software installation efforts, ensuring systems are configured, tested, and mission-ready before turnover.
  • Deliver limited DSESTS and SE MSD services and support as part of the broader field service mission.
  • Set up and support customer demonstrations that showcase DRS equipment in real operating environments.
  • Report progress and status regularly, and provide budget, cost, and schedule input to keep field assignments on track.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and DRS personnel and contribute technical input to proposal efforts.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced field service engineers, building bench strength across the team.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with 5+ years of related field service experience.
  • Familiarity with VIS software installation and configuration.
  • Working knowledge of tactical radio systems.
  • Familiarity with Battle Management Systems (BMS).
  • Advanced communications, networking, and electrical theory knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, identifying basic and advanced circuits
  • Demonstrate basic personal/electrical safety
  • Familiar with the requirements for handling US ITAR and related export-controlled data-3
  • Solid technical expertise and application domain knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently in the field with limited direct oversight.
  • Strong customer orientation and relationship-building skills.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in written form with a strong degree of interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable operating with little to no supervision in dynamic field environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS for extended assignments, from one week up to 12 months.
  • Ability to obtain a passport and security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of and experience in the application of communication equipment.
  • Advanced understanding of and experience in electrical and data interface standards and protocols.
  • Advanced understanding of and experience in operating systems/server systems/network protocols.
  • Knowledge of military systems and platforms
