Pay Range: $18-21.50/hr





Position Summary: The Parts Inventory Specialist produces, and fills requested need for parts or supplies by utilizing communication skills, computer, company pickup and parts inventory knowledge to maintain inventories efficiently. The person in this role must be able to work with everyone in the company.

 

Responsibilities:

The essential functions of the position include the following. This is a representative sample and is not to imply a complete listing of all responsibilities and tasks.


1.Maintain Inventories

Determine correct parts and supply levels

• Organize, label, and maintain parts room layout and shelving

• Maintain inventory levels

• Assist maintenance department with administration of the CMMS system. 


 

2.Communicate Effectively

Exchange information with co-workers and management

• Contact vendors via telephone or fax to purchase parts and supplies

• Check price and availability of parts and supplies via telephone or fax

• Research parts and equipment for proper application and purchasing

 

3.Complete paperwork

Review “Purchase Requests” and follow-up on any discrepancies with the appropriate persons

• Generate Purchase Orders as needed

• Maintain PO book and assign PO numbers

• Maintain an accurate filing system of parts ordered and received

• Receive parts and compare packing lists to parts received

• Provide clerical and administrative support as needed

 

4.Utilize Tools and Equipment

Drive company vehicles to pick up parts from local vendors

• Use computer to maintain inventory

• Use standard office equipment as needed (copy and fax machines, etc.)

• Ensure that company pick-up is washed and kept clean. 

• Keep parts office and room clean and follow GMP's

 

Role in Food Safety: Follow all plant GMP's and ensure work area is secure

 

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum six months experience utilizing office procedures (working in an office setting).

• Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. 

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

• Washington State Driver's License.

• Good communication Skills 

• Must be able to work any shift.

Position that backs up this role during absence: Any other trained employee or Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to complete paperwork and do inventories, distance vision to drive and move through the plant, color vision to recognize color coded paperwork and other items, peripheral vision to drive and walk through the plant, depth perception to drive and stock inventory, and the ability to adjust focus to drive and ensure the safety of others.




B. Non-Physical Requirements:

A high school diploma or GED required
