POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrician / PLC Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is based out of our Springdale, Arkansas location. This individual is responsible for performing installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, and process improvements to production equipment and facilities in an effective and timely manner. Improve production results in the best available way. The Electrician/ PLC Tech frequently utilizes a laptop computer to access machine programs; the ability to make necessary programming changes and troubleshoot equipment are key capabilities for this position.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Constructs, maintains, and tests electrical systems and components
- Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency
- Demonstrates ability to learn and retain information, methods, and processes
- Properly and efficiently installs, programs and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley variable frequency drives, PF4, PF40, PF70, 523 and 525.
- Install and troubleshoot a variety of photo-eyes and proxies.
- Performs maintenance, installation, and preventative maintenance on all production and facilities equipment.
- Coordinates efforts with management, production, quality, maintenance, and other personnel to effectively utilize all equipment and processes and work toward continuous process improvement.
- Coordinates with outside contractors and vendors to obtain needed parts, equipment, and technical knowledge.
- Works to maintain company objectives and departmental budgets.
- Completes all required paperwork as directed by management.
- Assist production personnel to changeover production equipment and maximize production efficiency as dictated by production schedules.
- Trains other maintenance and production personnel to safely, effectively, and efficiently use production and facilities equipment.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Performs other job duties as directed by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Industrial Electrician License, or at minimum 5 years of verifiable experience working as an Industrial Electrician or PLC Tech
- Must be able to operate a forklift, manlift, and basic power tools.
- Must have basic math abilities to calculate times, speeds, temperatures, etc.
- Must have the ability to function as a team player under demanding circumstances.
- Must have the ability to recognize and utilize the proper Personal Protective Equipment for specific tasks.
- Must have current training in Hazcom; Welding, Cutting, and Brazing Safety; Forklift Safety; Confined Space Entry; and Electrical Safety.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task
- Must have excellent time management skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food/beverage industry

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
