At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world.  We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team at our Pensacola, Florida location. 

The Maintenance Mechanic works in an outdoor (90%) chemical industrial plant to inspect, repair, install and maintain production equipment within the facility   Maintenance may also lubricate, clean, and perform applicable preventative maintenance on equipment. This position includes routine shop repairs including shop work and fabrication. Availability to work nights, holidays, weekends, or overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Routine maintenance which includes but is not limited to the following:
•    Carry out maintenance operations on specific tasks.
•    Put in place corrective action on poor performers with the Line Manager.
•    Propose improvements in the monitoring of stocks and management of spare parts.
•    Participate in preparation of the program of preventive or predictive maintenance, identifying repeat failures.
•    Identify deviations from schedule and report them to your Line Manager.
•    Participate in preparation of plans for shutdown in coordination with the services Reliability, HSE and Production departments, the maintenance team and Engineering, to carry out all the required operations.
•    Plan these needs and resources for the shutdown.
•    Prepare these spare parts in close cooperation with the Store.
•    Analyze the needs in terms of preventive and corrective maintenance operations.
•    Recommend the use of approved external resources for correct management of outstanding work to be performed with the Line Manager.
•    Ensure that the permits and working methods are prepared, available and appropriate to the work to be performed for each of these work days.
•    Inform the Line Manager of the spare parts to be ordered for the different operations in progress if they are not in stock before these operations.
•    Identify the requirements in terms of special equipment (cranes, etc.) and estimate the human resources required to perform the works efficiently and effectively. 

Required Skills

•    Good verbal and written communication skills.   
•    Ability to effectively work on teams. 
•    Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and SAP. 
•    Knowledge of machines and tools, with demonstrated mechanical ability.  
•    Trouble shooting, ability to utilize critical thinking, sound decision making, and disciplined problem solving.      
•    Understanding and ability to use mathematics and calculations.
•    Industrial Experience required; chemical industry experience is a plus.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

•    1-3 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or an industrial environment preferred. 
•    High School Diploma or GED is required.
•    Journeyman, licenses, and professional trade certification preferred.
