Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator I
Location: Clayton, NC
Position Type: Contract (6 months)
Pay Rate: $21.50/hour
Shift: Schedule C/D 6pm – 6:30am 3/2/2/3
  Job Summary
As a Warehouse Operator I at our Clayton, NC facility, you will perform all aspects of warehousing requirements for the General Warehouse and Cold Storage, functioning as part of a high-performance work team. You will support production by safely operating various types of stand-up forklifts and handling materials for multiple environments, including cold storage. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
  • Operate different types of stand-up powered industrial trucks (Raymond, Easi Reach - short and tall mast, order pickers, walkie riders).
  • Stage, pick up, deliver, and store materials efficiently in ambient and cold environments.
  • Perform inventory control: receive, place, transfer, and conduct cycle/annual inventory counts.
  • Pull samples, look up and reorder plant supplies, and prepare and ship finished products.
  • Load/unload trailers and complete required system transactions for material transfers and inventory adjustments using Prism/AS400/SAP.
  • Conduct daily forklift and warehouse inspections and maintain training records.
  • Ensure accuracy during material movement and timely delivery to prevent production interruptions.
Physical Requirements
  • Move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and handle materials by hand.
  • Ability to remain stationary (sitting/standing) approximately 50% of the time.
  • May require corrected or color vision, depending on tasks.
  • Work in extremely cold or loud environments as needed (with PPE).
  • Pass a company driving exam for powered industrial trucks (no state driver license required).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven ability to read, write legibly, and accurately complete department documentation.
  • Experience or formal training in hazardous materials handling.
  • 0–3 years of warehousing experience; GMP or pharmaceutical warehouse background preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other inventory systems, Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Basic math and metric system knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts preferred.
  • Good communication, organizational skills, and ability to adapt to schedule changes.
