From the desk of your Kelly recruiter (Chicago-based)

I'm a strong-minded Chicago recruiter looking for sharp, reliable stand-up forklift operators who can stay upbeat, focused, and moving in a chilled warehouse. We're especially seeking candidates who live near the South Suburbs and the Southeast Side of Chicago, but all qualified applicants within a reasonable commute are encouraged to apply. If you're confident on a stand-up/reach truck, serious about attendance, and like to stay active, this is your lane.

What you'll do (both shifts)
• Operate a stand-up / reach (Crown-style) forklift to move product safely throughout the chill building.
• Load and unload pallets from docks, platforms, skids, and racking.
• Organize and secure boxes, pallets, and containers in designated storage and staging areas.
• Weigh product and record information on labels/tags and in RF scanners for accurate inventory and production tracking.
• Place shipping-compliant labels on cases, wrap pallets, and help keep the warehouse clean and organized.
• Read pick tickets, select the correct items, build pallets for staging, and key quantities into handheld scanners.
• Verify quantities, product type, and basic food-safety requirements as you work.

What you bring
1–2+ years of recent forklift experience on stand-up / reach equipment (required for both shifts).
• Comfortable working in a chilled, food-grade warehouse for the full shift.
• Able to lift, stack, walk, and stand most of the day while staying positive and locked-in.
• Strong attention to detail for counts, labels, and documentation.
Reliable, on-time attendance – this is not a fit for frequent late arrivals or last-minute call-offs.
• Team-oriented, energetic work style that fits a fast-paced warehouse operation.

Screenings & Pre-Employment Requirements

All offers for this role are contingent on successfully completing the following pre-employment screenings:
7-year county-level criminal background check
County background check in counties of recent residence, as applicable
Pre-employment drug test
Social Security trace / screening

These screenings are required before starting and typically take 3–7 days to complete.

If you're within commuting distance of our far Southeast Side Chicago location and have real stand-up forklift skills, apply with Kelly Services today and we'll place you on the shift that fits you best.
