Pay Rate: $28/HR (negotiable)
Schedule: Mon-Thurs 5AM-3:30PM (voluntary OT available on Friday and Saturday as well)
Location: Paris, KY
Duration: Permanent position with full benefits 

Job Overview: A Tool and Die Maker is responsible for the creation, modification, and repair of tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of parts for manufacturing processes. This role involves using precision measurement tools, machinery, and hand tools to ensure that components are crafted to exact specifications.
  Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool and Die Fabrication:
    Design, create, and modify tools, dies, and molds used for shaping or forming materials like metals, plastics, and composites.

  • Blueprint Interpretation:
    Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the design, dimensions, and requirements for tooling and dies.

  • Machining and Grinding:
    Operate machinery such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, CNC machines, and EDM machines to create tools and dies.

  • Assembly and Fitting:
    Assemble, fit, and test tools, dies, and jigs, ensuring that they meet precise specifications for production requirements.

  • Troubleshooting and Repairs:
    Inspect and troubleshoot worn or damaged tools, dies, and equipment. Perform repairs or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.

  • Quality Control:
    Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) to verify the dimensions and quality of parts produced.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to discuss tool specifications and production processes.

  • Maintenance:
    Regularly maintain and service tools and dies to ensure they remain in proper working condition and avoid production delays.

  • Safety Compliance:
    Follow strict safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment while handling equipment and materials.

What's a typical day as a Tool and Die Maker? You'll be:
• Designing, creating, and modifying tools, dies, and molds used for shaping or forming materials like metals, plastics, and composites.
• Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine design and dimensions.
• Operating machinery such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, CNC machines, and EDM machines to create tools and dies.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have at least 3-5 years of experience in tool and die making or a related field.
• Possess strong knowledge of machining and fabrication processes, with proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Are skilled in using various hand tools, power tools, and machinery, with a high attention to detail and precision.
