Temporary Administrative Assistant III
Location: Beaumont, TX
Duration: Approximately 1 year assignment
Pay Range: $16.00+ (based on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant III to join our customers team for a period of about one year. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of educational qualifications and relevant work experience in office management. This role will require effective communication, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Minimum Education Required:
- Associate degree or two years of college coursework related to job functions; OR
- Combination of education and related field experience (2 years of experience equals 1 year of formal education).
Required Qualifications:
- At least one year of secretarial or office experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in general studies is preferred.
- Two years of secretarial/clerical experience.
Key Competencies (KSAs - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Knowledge of office management and academic settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, PowerPoint, email, and Enterprise Resource Planning software (e.g., Banner).
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to navigate LU Learn (Blackboard) learning management system.
- Consistent reliability regarding attendance and punctuality.
- Familiarity with office machines, such as photocopiers, FAX machines, and multi-line phone systems.
- Effective interpersonal skills for interacting with students, prospective students, and the public.
- Competence in managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Aptitude for fast-paced work environments.
- Respect for university and College of Arts and Sciences policies.
- Self-motivation in acquiring new skills and knowledge proactively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Capability to perform various physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
