Title: Technical Writer
Location: Rochester, NY
Pay: $45.00

This position will support the Quality Systems team by executing Periodic Document Reviews (PDR) in accordance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and 21 CFR Part 820. This role will support ongoing remediation efforts. The writer will work closely with personnel across multiple levels and must be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently.

Responsibilities:
• Review and revise controlled documents (SOPs, work instructions, forms) to ensure compliance, accuracy, and clarity.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to update technical content and resolve discrepancies.
• Format documents using approved templates and site standards.
• Submit and manage document changes using OCPLM, our electronic document management system (EDMS).
• Track and document PDR progress to support audit readiness.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, or communications discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of technical writing experience in a regulated industry (medical device, biotech, or pharma preferred).
• Familiarity with document control processes and quality management systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels across the site.

Preferred Experience:
• Experience with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or 21 CFR Part 820
  Experience using EDMS tools such as OCPLM.
