Technical Support Coordinator

PURPOSE:
As the Technical Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for a range of tasks that blend technical troubleshooting with creative design. Your role will involve designing and editing 3D models, managing 3D printing processes, and supporting various IT functions across the organization. You will also handle server maintenance, internal system management, and employee support.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
IT Support and Development:

  • Provide junior web development support using Yii2 Framework, PHP, JS, and MariaDB.
  • Maintain and deploy ProxMox servers.
  • Manage internal email accounts and IM users.
  • Manage various cloud based software user creation and user management.
  • Create and manage internal site users (Iris, Helix) and LMS users (Vistar).
  • Facilitate barcode creation.
  • Manage camera system access.
  • Program, maintain, and facilitate scanner systems.
  • Handle door keycard creation and maintenance.
  • Manage Microsoft and Google accounts, including license and email creation.
  • Act as the point of contact for external vendors, including troubleshooting, appointment setups, and escorting.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair software and hardware.
  • Manage phone systems, including user management and troubleshooting.
  • Install network cables, maintain routers (static IPs, VPNs, QOS adjustments), and handle lab machine troubleshooting.
  • Document processes and provide IT support and education to employees.
  • Conduct IT equipment research and manage printer and workstation deployments.
3D Modeling and Printing:
  • Design and edit 3D models using Fusion360.
  • Perform 3D slicing and printing with Prusa Slicer and Klipper.
  • Modify and maintain 3D printers to ensure optimal performance.
Lab Operations and Management:
  • Create, deploy, and manage sensors for lab metrics (e.g., temperature, water levels).
  • Create and manage digital signage.
  • Handle Unifi management and troubleshooting for mesh network wifi.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
  • Bachelor's degree, or working towards a degree, in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Experience with design of systems and programs
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).
  • Must be able to regularly lift 10 pounds; Lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IT support, including email management, network installation, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage and maintain various IT equipment and perform related research.
  • Cleans work area on an as needed basis.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 WHAT SKILLS ARE PREFERRED?
  • Hands-on experience in all relevant coding languages; especially PHP, Python, MYSQL, MARIADB, HTML/CSS, and Javascript/jQuery.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and printing, including Fusion360, PrusaSlicer, and Klipper.
  • Experience with ProxMox server maintenance and deployments.
  • Relevant certifications or technical training is a plus.
