Job Title: Accounts Payable / Staff Accountant (4–6 Month Contract)
Location: Dallas, TX
Type: Temporary Contract, Full-Time (4–6 months)
Department: Finance/Accounting
We are seeking a detail-oriented, professional, and experienced Accounts Payable / Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced and collaborative finance team for a 4–6 month contract during our busiest financial season. This temporary role will focus on high-volume AP processing, account reconciliations, and general accounting support. The right candidate will have strong AP experience, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable:-
Accurately process a high volume of vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.

Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices; secure necessary approvals.

Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or payment issues.

Support weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments.

Maintain compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures.

Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.

Assist with journal entries and GL account review.

Support month-end and year-end close activities.

Provide backup and support to other accounting functions as needed.

Collaborate with internal administrators and external vendors to resolve issues.

Occasionally interface with parents or community members, requiring a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure process efficiency and accuracy.

2–5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on accounts payable.

Solid grasp of GAAP and general accounting principles.

Experience with large ERP systems is preferred (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage, Entrada).

Familiarity with Skyward or QuickBooks is a plus.

High attention to detail and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.

Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills; ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong AP background is more important than education-sector experience.

Candidates with a variety of accounting roles and experience across different industries often excel in this position.

Fast-paced and highly collaborative.

Requires a self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently while coordinating closely with team members.

Increased workload during budgeting and year-end periods.
