Position Overview
Kelly Engineering is recruiting a senior-level Process Improvement Engineer to support a medical device manufacturing site in Athens, Texas. This role focuses on stabilizing and improving inefficient manufacturing processes while addressing quality and operational risk in an FDA-regulated environment.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring floor-level process ownership and strong experience in medical device production.
Summary of Responsibilities

Redesign and improve inefficient manufacturing processes

Reduce scrap, rework, defects, and production risk

Lead hands-on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives

Address quality issues using root cause analysis

Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams

Support regulated process changes and tech transfer activities
Required Qualifications
-
5–12 years of medical device manufacturing experience
- Experience working in medical device industry in FDA-regulated environments (Class II / 510(k))

Background as a Manufacturing, Process, or Industrial Engineer

Hands-on experience fixing poorly designed or unstable processes

Strong understanding of quality risk and regulated manufacturing
Preferred Experience

Catheters, guidewires, introducer sets, biopsy instruments, or similar invasive disposable devices

Root cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA

Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in production environments

This site requires a senior engineer who can work independently and drive improvement without extensive training.
