Sr. Controls / Automation Engineer
- Location: ONSITE – Cleveland, Mississippi (38732)
- Duration: 12+ months (Contract extension possibilities)
- Type: W2 contract (Third-party or C2C "Corp-to-Corp" arrangements WILL NOT be considered for this role)
- Pay: Negotiable depending on direct-related experience
- Work Authorization: Must be currently in the United States with active employment authorization documents. Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position.
Primary focus will be on a new business startup.
Initial project work to bring a new device production line will include –
- Installation/commissioning/debug of multiple new automated device assembly machines into existing cleanroom space.
- Provide / support equipment improvements within Baxter's change control process.
- Validation/Qualification activities for new assembly equipment and ancillary equipment.
- Assist Project Manager with required project planning, project controls, and procurement work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design/modify precision assembly and/or manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare estimates for various tasks and projects.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Activities.
- Interface with plant and corporate groups as well as contractors and vendors.
- Manage start-up, debug, and commission of new manufacturing processes.
- Provide higher-level troubleshooting and problem solving for various systems / issues pertaining to automated assembly equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support/troubleshooting for new device production line.
- Demonstrate proactive communication and problem solving.
- Responsible for adhering to FDA Design Control standards at all times.
- Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and log books.
- Generate technical documents, reports, equipment specifications, and interpret technical drawings/schematics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience required (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer degrees are preferred)
- 2+ year experience with programming/troubleshooting experience with automation controls, automated assembly, control systems, PLC's, HMI's, servo's, and vision inspection systems is required.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC's & HMI's is required.
- 2+ years Engineering / Manufacturing experience. (FDA manufacturing preferred)
- Other preferred experience would include: Magnemotion conveyor system, ultrasonic welding, Staubli robots, Cognex and Keyence vision systems.
- Design software experience (like AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.) is preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing skills and experience are a plus.
