Job Title: Safety Analyst
Location: Waterloo, IA (Onsite)
Assignment Length: 24 Months (As a W2 employee of KellyOCG)
Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour
Shift Information: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (occasional overtime anticipated)
Work Environment: Fully onsite role; routine travel between local facilities (within 20-mile radius) may be required using personal vehicle

Position Overview:
As a Safety Analyst, you will assist the Safety Lead in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating health and safety management programs to promote a safe work environment and ensure full compliance with all laws, regulations, and standards at a complex foundry facility. You'll analyze safety data, conduct investigations and ergonomic evaluations, generate and present safety metrics, manage data in Cority, and support training and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze health and safety metrics to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement; research and document best practices
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and annual statistical reports, including KPI dashboards; deliver weekly presentations to leadership
  • Conduct incident investigations and ergonomic evaluations; assist in corrective action development and follow-up
  • Utilize Cority software for near miss and injury data management, corrective actions, logs, and survey reporting
  • Perform periodic inspections and risk assessments, including audits for powered industrial trucks, PPE, LOTO, confined space, fall protection, and more
  • Facilitate SEAMS scheduling/reporting and participate in program management for safety and injury reduction initiatives
  • Develop and deliver safety education and monitor training completion for all employees

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • At least 1 year using Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, pivot tables, and slide presentations
  • Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and trend identification
  • Understanding and application of regulatory requirements and safety/ergonomic principles
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with salary and wage personnel
  • Comfortable in a factory/manufacturing environment and with inter-facility travel

What Makes You Stand Out (Preferred):

  • OSHA 30-hour training in General Industry or Construction Safety
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Experience working with collective bargaining units

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Kinesiology, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related discipline, OR equivalent relevant work experience
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • If a non-safety degree: Recognized safety certification/certificate accepted, plus 3+ years of relevant safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
