Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Coordinator near Cincinnati, OH.
Contract – to – Hire
Shift: Sunday - Thursday 11pm-7:30am
Compensation: $24/hr DOE
Job Summary: The Quality Coordinator I is responsible for maintaining critical quality control processes within the manufacturing operation. This role requires attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills to check, measure, monitor, and record production against established quality standards. The Quality Coordinator performs assigned quality control checks in a timely manner, ensuring all checks meet defined frequencies throughout each production run. This position works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure production lots are certified for release and audits line leads and operators for competency. Collaboration across all levels of management and associates is essential to facilitate problem-solving and to achieve customer quality standards. Position Requirements:
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with ISO 9001, GMP, IPEC, GFSI, and other quality programs preferred
- Proven attention to detail and decision-making skills in a scientific environment required
- Ensure 100% of each production is checked according to quality requirements before release
- Assist Quality Assurance and operations in investigating quality issues, complaints, or product returns
- Communicate quality requirements, non-conformances, and quality training during huddles and team meetings
- Support production investigations with root cause analysis
- Conduct audits of line leads and operators' competency during operations
- Pull production lot retains per procedure
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance Manager to ensure production meets customer quality requirements
- Support programs including document and record control, quality internal auditing, nonconformance, and corrective/preventive action
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements as per local, state, and federal regulations
- Follow guiding principles, policies, procedures, and other requirements related to sustainability and safety
- Maintain hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Ability to travel frequently up and down stairs
- Perform other quality control duties as assigned
- Strong working knowledge of fractions, ratios, and proportions
- Proficient with software systems and tools used in the quality department (e.g., Excel, Minitab, Business Central)
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and interpret process information
- Investigate quality issues to identify root causes and ensure resolution
- Ability to differentiate color and odor
- Frequently perform repetitive reaching, grasping, and lifting of product/materials up to 40 lbs
- Able to stand for prolonged periods
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Wear personal safety equipment as required
- Utilize cognitive abilities to communicate with internal customers and understand requests
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls
- Frequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist neck and trunk, and safely climb stairs
- Completion of the company's written training program for this position
- Maintain a safe, legal, and environmentally protective operation
- Listen to and respond quickly to customers, suppliers, and employees
- Adhere to guidelines for GMP, quality, and food safety requirements
- Maintain training on relevant quality, GMP, and food safety procedures
- Report any food safety, security, or quality issues to management or the HACCP team
- Support new business opportunities with flexible and innovative strategies
- Utilize resources cost-effectively
- Strive for continuous improvement
