Job Description: Clean Room Assembler I Position: Clean Room Assembler I
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Clean Room Assembler I is responsible for assembling and testing company products in a clean room environment. This position may specialize in particular products or processes. The assembler will follow all work area processes and procedures to assemble units, utilizing hand tools, small power equipment, and other specialized equipment/fixtures. Responsibilities include inspecting items using microscopes, maintaining accurate physical inventory and data entry, and practicing good housekeeping. Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Assembly: Assemble a wide range of products using drawings, work instructions, and performance specifications. Complete required documentation accurately.
  • Inspection: Inspect assembled items using microscopes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Utilize the inventory management system (Kanban), conduct cycle counting, and manage physical inventory.
  • Material Handling: Perform material handling, receiving, and stocking of materials. Coordinate with sales on material needs.
  • Clean Room Maintenance: Maintain clean room integrity by wearing proper attire and adhering to cleanroom environment practices and procedures.
  • Quality Standards: Adhere to product quality standards and standard operating procedures. Maintain work area, tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Chemical Handling: Prepare and handle chemicals for use in the cleanroom.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate various equipment necessary for product assembly and testing.
  • Team Support: Provide support and feedback to team leads and engineering. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using 80/20, PLS, and other principles and techniques.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health requirements and wear prescribed PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: At least one year of manufacturing experience preferred; clean room experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in inspecting and manipulating small, delicate items using various tools.
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and practices.
    • Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office products.
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Good problem-solving, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills.
    • Good decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to maintain high productivity on repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands:
  • Frequent twisting/turning, reaching outward, sitting, handling/manipulating items, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional climbing, crawling, reaching above shoulder level, squatting, and typing.
  • Must be able to carry up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
Working Conditions:
  • 100% of the time is spent in plant conditions and a clean room environment.
  • Constant exposure to chemicals and frequent exposure to machinery and loud noises.
  • Frequent exposure to induction machines that can interfere with electromagnetic devices such as pacemakers.

Pay Rate: $17-$24 Based on Experience
