Pay Rate: $21/hr

Shift: ROTATING shifts, Monday – Friday 8 hour shifts ---7 am-3 pm---3 pm-11 pm---11 pm-7 am.The talent could be asked to step into another shift. The shifts would be rotating in this case .Occasionally, there is weekend coverage that is needed which will entail 12-hour shifts. Talent will have advance notice.


Job Title: Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Location: Quincy, FL
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (via Kelly Services)
Schedule: Rotating shifts including weekends (12-hour shifts may be required)
Worksite: Onsite Overview: We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Technician to support laboratory operations at a clay processing plant in Quincy, FL. This role is essential in ensuring products meet internal and external specifications through accurate, timely, and safe testing procedures. The ideal candidate has prior industrial lab or quality experience and a strong attention to detail.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical testing on crude clay ore, in-process materials, and finished products.
  • Perform quality tests including:
  • Viscosity
  • Free moisture
  • Particle size
  • Residue analysis
  • pH, calcium analysis, CO?/CO? analysis
  • Packed and free-fall density
  • Operate lab instruments such as rheometers, moisture balances, spectrometers, electronic scales, and calcium analyzers.
  • Record and report results using lab systems and computer software.
  • Follow all safety protocols and lab procedures.
  • Support daily lab operations, sample management, and workflow prioritization.
  • Participate in routine equipment calibration and validation activities. Qualifications: Basic Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 1+ year of experience in an industrial quality or laboratory environment is preferred.
    Preferred Skills & Experience:
    • Hands-on experience with mid-level lab instrumentation.
    • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word; SAP experience is a plus.
    • Comfortable lifting 10–50 lbs and working in a physically active lab setting.
    • Ability to follow SOPs, maintain documentation, and uphold regulatory standards.
    • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
    • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime.
