Quality Control Laboratory Analyst (Food Manufacturing) About the Role

This role is responsible for performing chemical, microbiological, and physical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.

This position requires hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, R/D testing, and laboratory quality documentation within a food or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, microbiological, and physical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

• Conduct routine quality tests including pH, water activity, alcohol, moisture, Brix, and total nitrogen.

• Operate and troubleshoot analytical instruments including:

  • Metrohm Titrator (salt analysis)

  • Shimadzu Gas Chromatograph (alcohol analysis)

  • Gerhardt Dumatherm (nitrogen determination)

• Perform instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Maintain aseptic techniques under laminar flow hoods and manage sterilization and autoclave procedures.

• Document results in QA/QC records, spreadsheets, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).

• Report out-of-specification (OOS) results and support production teams with batch calculations and adjustments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or related scientific field preferred.

• Experience in food manufacturing, fermentation, or laboratory quality control.

• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and R/D testing.

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and support cross-functional teams.
