Purchasing Assistant

 

Temporary Purchasing Assistant opening

Start Date : ASAP

Location: onsite role at Commerce GA

Salary/ Pay: $21- 24/hr.

 

This position involves supporting the Purchasing department by confirming all purchase orders, internal PO Req responsibility, updating metrics, and assistance with renewals of supplier agreements. Additionally, you will assist with day-to-day transactions and documentation related to supply chain operations. This includes entering information into the system or database and generating daily reports. You will also be responsible for maintaining logs and records of necessary documentation.

 

This role requires effective communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and a diverse range of company personnel in a positive and proactive manner. As a team member, you will collaborate with others within the department and the organization to carry out assigned tasks and best serve the company.

 

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for assisting personnel within Purchasing and confirming all purchase orders,
  • Internal non-inventory PO requisition processing.
  • Expedite parts when requested from buyers.
  • Assist in potential resourcing through Benchmarking/Quote packages (pull drawings and MAU information).
  • Support MRO purchases with direction from Buyer.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and company personnel in a friendly, timely, and quality manner; ensuring that customers' and vendors' questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement and working in the Purchasing department.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage high volume and competing priorities
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
