Kelly Scientific has partnered with an exciting biotech accelerating crop innovations and are seeking an associate level Project Manager with experience in plant stress physiology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced agricultural programs aimed at improving global food security.   • Title: Project Manager - Plant Stress Physiology 
  • Location: St. Louis, MO (onsite)
  • Length: 1 year contract + potential extensions
  • Rate: Commensurate with experience (negotiable)

Summary:
The successful candidate will assist the Technical Program Lead in the technical review and assessment of progress in various discovery programs. This role involves identifying promising program elements that can be accelerated through our product development pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Analysis and Assessment:
    • Conduct detailed technical analyses of different programs and subsequent reports.
    • Assess the feasibility of technical product concepts originating from these programs.
    • Identify promising targets for acceleration and recommend remediation plans or discontinuation for underperforming elements.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
    • Collaborate to prepare business cases for yield stress projects, such as the photorespiratory bypass in cassava.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing technical data to facilitate go/no-go decisions.
    • Scout and evaluate potential stacking strategies within RIPE, ENSA, and CASS programs to enhance yield by 10%.
    • Prepare the Discovery Program roadmap for the upcoming year.
  • Data Management and Communication:
    • Perform technical revisions and upload data associated with go/no-go points and quarterly reports.
    • Collaborate on creating dashboards and project tracking tools to streamline program management.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations for product development meetings, leadership and board meetings, and other relevant forums as required.
  • Ad Hoc Duties:
    • Assist with preparing presentations for monthly product development meetings and ad hoc leadership, board, and program-specific meetings.

Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with agricultural science, especially related to crop yield improvement programs such as RIPE, ENSA, and CASS.
  • Strong technical background with experience in project management within a scientific or technical program context.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate complex technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed reports, business cases, and presentations.
  • Experience with data management and the ability to create and maintain tracking tools and dashboards.
