Job Title: Production Technician – Device Assembly
Location: North Charleston, SC, US
Reporting To: Manufacturing Supervisor – Device Assembly
Effective Date: 4/10/2024

Job Overview / Purpose:
Join our new state-of-the-art facility as a Production Technician in Device Assembly Operations. You will be a front-line technician responsible for daily operation and maintenance of fully automated assembly equipment, striving to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. This role offers opportunities for growth, including training at our facility in Taiwan.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Safety-First mindset; follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Operate within pre-established Quality Policies and Procedures
  • Analyze machine performance using data and mechanical knowledge
  • Communicate line performance issues and escalate as needed
  • Manage production line to maximize OEE each shift
  • Perform timely preventive maintenance to keep equipment reliable
  • Suggest improvements for Safety, Quality, and Production
  • Assist other production lines/departments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with established operations and records
  • Perform in-process tests/inspections per procedures
  • Solve operational issues to optimize performance
  • Continuously improve technical knowledge of assembly equipment
  • Support installation and validation of manufacturing equipment
  • Serve on improvement program projects as needed
  • Willingly take on additional tasks and responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance and ethics in all duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Profile – Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years' experience operating complex automated manufacturing equipment (Preferred)
  • Strong desire to grow in Medical Device Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts
  • Effective team member with troubleshooting abilities
  • Proficient in computer systems (SAP, MES, etc.)
  • Accurate documentation of production/machine data
  • Results-driven; thrives as part of a team
    Preferred:
  • Experience with automated high-speed/high-volume manufacturing
  • Technical knowledge of automation components (Servos, Cams, Motors, etc.)
  • Understanding of vision systems, sensors, drives
  • Prior experience in highly regulated industry

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Language Skills:

  • English (mandatory)

Physical Requirements:

  • Move up to 50 lbs; operate/inspect equipment
  • Stand up to 12-hour shifts
  • Corrected vision to 20/30
  • Work atop elevated positions, use ladders
  • Exposure to odorous/hazardous materials; wear latex gloves
  • Work in confined spaces, loud environments (with hearing protection)
  • Clean room gowning certification; work with sanitants
  • Frequent bending, stooping, overhead work
  • Work hours to support 24/7 manufacturing
