- Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather and submit all necessary information for prior authorization requests.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for medical procedures and services, ensuring every patient gets the care they need.
- Prepare and submit prior authorization requests according to insurance guidelines, streamlining the approval process.
- Communicate with insurance companies to track and expedite authorization status, resolving any issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all authorization requests, ensuring compliance and smooth operations.
- Stay informed on the latest insurance regulations, managed care policies, and HIPAA guidelines to keep our practice at the top of its game.
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, especially in roles involving prior authorizations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding (ICD-10), and medical records.
- A strong understanding of managed care processes and insurance verification procedures.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
