Part-Time Accounting and Office Assistant (Open to current college students)
Schedule: Approximately 15+ hours per week (2.5–3 days onsite) / flexible on schedule
Location: Onsite
Start: As soon as possible
Duration: Indefinite Contract
Pay: $20-24/hr. depending on experience
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting and Office Assistant to support our accounting team. This role will primarily focus on scanning financial documents into our system, which initiates internal accounting workflows and processes. The position will also assist with data entry though journal entry posting, invoice processing, and general accounting support.
This is a great opportunity for someone with basic accounting knowledge, such as an accounting student, recent graduate, or someone with AP/AR experience, looking to gain hands-on experience in an accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Scan accounting documents into internal systems to initiate processing workflows
- Ensure documents are properly coded and accurately entered
- Responsible for the timely review, coding, and processing of inventory or job-related invoices
- Review inventory exception reports, investigate discrepancies, and make corrections as needed
- Assist with posting journal entries in the general ledger
- Communicate with team members to follow up on missing or incomplete documentation
- Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and proper record keeping
- Support the accounting team with additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed
- Basic understanding of accounting principles or coursework in accounting/finance preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and follow established processes
- Good communication skills and willingness to follow up on outstanding items
- Comfortable working with accounting systems and scanning/document management tools
Schedule & Additional Details
- Approximately 15 hours per week
- 2.5–3 days onsite
- Mondays preferred, but schedule is flexible
- Opportunity for additional hours depending on workload and ability to assist with other accounting tasks
