Pay rate and Shift
Job Duration: 5+ Month (Temp to Hire)
Shift: 1st 8:00AM-5:00PM (Mon to Fri)
Pay Rate: $17/hr.

Job description: 

  • Duties for this position will include support to both mail and copy areas of our site. Work with various delivery carriers to receive shipments, lift up to 50 lbs, check in packages and mail, and assign to correct recipient, assist with campus mail/delivery run, learn postal terminology in order to properly meter and process mail, assist with print requests and finishing.
  • The temp will be responsible for helping students at the counter with packages, learn print and production of print jobs. Answering phones to ensure the customer needs are met.
  • Delivering of Mail or packages to faculty - on a day-to-day basis, assist with receiving packages from the various delivery carriers.
  • A person that has good customer service skills, computer skills, eager to learn and likes a positive fast-paced work environment would be successful in this role. Must be honest, hardworking, and use good grammar when speaking.
  • There is a lot of walking, standing and sitting. Depends on where we are busiest and what needs attention.
  • Specific to the position at Benedictine College we are looking for the following skills and strengths:
  • Prior customer facing customer service experience, good communication (verbal and written), team player, strong ethics, good listening skills, follows supervision, dependable, willing and able to learn, able to spend the majority of the workday on their feet and walk around a campus environment, positive attitude, flexible, good attention to detail able to lift 50 lbs, experience working on a computer for basic site tasks. Work schedule is 8-5, M-F.
  • Typically, someone that has prior restaurant or retail experience is a good candidate.
  • A successful candidate will possess effective communication skills, good team player, effective use of a computer (used to receive packages, communicate with customers, etc), prior customer facing customer service experience, ability to write neatly and legibly.
  • This is a no smoking campus. No smoke break areas and no smoking allowed in cars on campus.  
  • No exceptions to this customer policy.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) Typically Required: -
  • Requires high school diploma, GED and 1 –2 years of experience or equivalent experience in a related field. -
  • Some related copy job experience is preferred. -
  • May require valid drivers license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage per Ricoh policy.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Excellent customer service skills - Good PC skills - Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize - Mathematical and filing skills - Ability to use office machines and technical equipment
  • Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands-Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level - Work assignments are diversified.
  • Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction–prepare, provide and convey diversified information 
  • Some physical effort is required which may involve long periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing or similar activities as well as lifting or moving items weighing up to 50-55 lbs. and in pushing or pulling machines on wheels, which may weigh up to 700 lbs., in order to move for repairs.
  • Walking between buildings may be necessary.
  • Moderate dexterity- regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
