Metrologist-St Louis, MO
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Metrologist for one of our clients, a CDMO specializing in services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, located in St. Louis, MO.
As a Metrologist you will provide technical oversight and leadership, guiding team members to ensure operational excellence and compliance with GMP standards. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and updating procedures to enhance departmental quality, efficiency, and regulatory alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical and laboratory instrumentation.
- Utilize and maintain various database systems and calibration records to ensure compliance.
- Analyze calibration results, prepare technical reports, and recommend technical solutions.
- Write and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); document Out-of-Tolerances (OOTs) and Deviations.
- Train and mentor team members on complex systems and calibration processes.
- Develop and update the metrology training program to ensure compliance with current procedures.
- Support client audits and regulatory inspections, occasionally representing management when needed.
- Maintain and calibrate metrology standards using computerized systems and data analysis software.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble laboratory instruments to identify and resolve defects.
- Ensure timely completion of all tasks in compliance with cGMP and company quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree with 10+ years of related experience.
- Proven experience working in a GMP-regulated environment is required
- Strong understanding of analytical laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, etc.).
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and time management.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with project management and prior participation in customer audits preferred.

- Pay Rate: Dependent upon level of education and experience
- Schedule: Onsite, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Travel: Up to 20%
