Description

Do you have experience in 3PL settings? Our client is seeking a Merchant Onboarding Specialist to be the primary guide for new merchants in Romeoville.  As the Merchant Onboarding Specialist, you'll provide support, guidance, and expert coordination to ensure inventory and fulfillment needs are met, acting as a bridge between clients, our warehouse team, and IT specialists. Once onboarding is complete, you'll transition merchants smoothly to our Merchant Relations team for ongoing support.

Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Pay Rate: $50-60K
Shift Hours: Standard 8:00 am–5:00 pm

  Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for new merchants during onboarding
  • Lead kickoff calls to clarify client requirements, timelines, packaging logistics, and fulfillment preferences
  • Coordinate with the IT integrations team to ensure technical setups are completed (you won't execute integrations, but will track milestones and confirm client readiness)
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations to:
  • Confirm inbound products are received, labeled, and stored correctly
  • Validate kitting, bundling, packaging, and shipping workflows
  • Run and monitor test orders to confirm accuracy and fulfillment speed
  • Document workflows and custom checklists for each client
  • Train clients on how to use the merchant portal and how to prepare shipments to InSync
  • Monitor the first wave of live orders to catch and resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Communicate proactively with clients, addressing questions and managing expectations
  • Transition clients to the Merchant Relations team once onboarding is successfully completed Qualifications
    • 1+ year in a client-facing onboarding, implementation, account coordination, or logistics role
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Hands-on familiarity with warehouse and fulfillment operations
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage client expectations clearly and positively
    • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and work cross-functionally with IT and warehouse teams
    Nice to Have:
    • Experience working in a 3PL or multi-merchant fulfillment warehouse
    • Knowledge of ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, BigCommerce, Magento)
    • Experience developing SOPs or onboarding documentation
    • Knowledge of Extensiv or similar WMS
