Medical Technologist-Indianapolis, IN
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a qualified and motivated Medical Technologist to join our client's Clinical Testing Laboratory team, with a primary focus on Chemistry and Hematology. This position involves performing moderate to high-complexity testing on whole blood and other clinical specimens using automated clinical analyzers. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of CLIA guidelines and laboratory best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory testing in chemistry and hematology, with a strong emphasis on the use of automated analyzers.
- Handle whole blood samples and other clinical specimens, ensuring proper preparation, processing, and storage.
- Accession incoming samples accurately, ensuring proper labeling and documentation in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Analyze test results, verify accuracy, and report findings in accordance with CLIA regulations and laboratory protocols.
- Monitor, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments; troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of testing and quality control measures.
- Participate in routine quality assurance, quality control, and proficiency testing programs.
- Adhere strictly to CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA standards for laboratory safety, patient privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, supervisors, and clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate test reporting.
- Support continuous improvement and participate in internal audits or inspections as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, preferably with experience in chemistry and hematology.
- Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of clinical analyzers.
- Working knowledge of CLIA guidelines and other relevant laboratory regulations.
- Experience working in a high-throughput clinical laboratory environment.
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office applications.

- Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Pay Rate dependent upon level of education and experience
- Position involves working in a clinical lab setting with exposure to biological specimens and standard lab equipment.
