Job Title: Material Handler II
Location: Byhalia, Mississippi
Position Type: Temporary
Bill Rate: $20 per hour
Summary:
The Material Handler II is responsible for safely and accurately moving products through the distribution center while adhering to all safety and company policies. This role also emphasizes maintaining a positive work environment through effective communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process orders by verifying and applying stickers for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Distribute product weight on trailers as per load plans.
- Utilize Radio Frequency Terminal/Scan gun for product processing.
- Operate Powered Industrial Equipment for material transport.
- Comply with all regulatory and safety procedures, including handling spills and damages.
- Prepare and load materials according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in continuous improvement projects related to safety, quality, service, and cost.
- Maintain documentation, including daily inspections and inventory discrepancies.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing: 85%
- Sitting: 10%
- Kneeling/Stooping/Crouching: 5% each
- Lifting: Maximum of 65 lbs
- Walking: 35%
Qualifications:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED; experience in operating Powered Industrial Equipment; basic math skills; ability to read and understand instructions.
- Vision and Hearing: Must pass vision (minimum 20/40) and hearing examinations.
- Other: Employees must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and follow all health and safety procedures.
- Available for all shifts
